About Us – Local Know

The Local Know Community Club

The Local Know Community Club (“LKCC”) is a community of people all of whom have the opportunity to share common interests with other members.

In addition to basic details which include name, email address, town/city (+suburb) / county / country of residence, members are invited to complete sections about their interests and activities as listed below:

• Holiday Properties they own

• Travel Experiences

• Businesses

• Sporting Interests and Ability

• Musical and Cultural Interests

• Other General Interests and Hobbies

• Education and CV

Completing all of this is not obligatory but encouraged. Examples of Members’ properties, their businesses and their posts in the Members’ Forum are shown by going to the sub-tabs in this About Tab.

Please note that members will not be able to view all other members’ email addresses. Initially members with common interests will be able to contact each other in private chatrooms and will then be able to exchange emails addresses and telephone numbers if they wish.

Members’ email addresses will be held by The Local Know Community Club’s admin for use in sending out Newsletters to everyone which typically might include details of new discount vouchers availble to members and events that a member might be organising.

Members' Properties

Some members of The Local Know Community Club may own properties abroad and in order to cover overheads, are happy to rent out their properties occasionally to people they know well or they may have met through membership of The Local Know Community Club.

The Local Know Community Club does not seek commissions from the rental of properties as rentals are arranged directly between the parties who typically will have arranged to meet prior to agreeing the detail. Or even if a rental arrangement is not made, members might make contact and then subsequently meet at the holiday location where one or other party will have a very good local knowledge of where to go and what to do e.g. the fantastic village in the countryside or the superb restaurant which one might not normally find.

Members' Travel Experiences

Members are able to describe in detail their experiences when travelling.

These may be

• A holiday at a destination where they have stayed at the same hotel, villa or apartment for a one or more weeks and where locally they have found restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, local tours or they may have hired a car for a few days and discovered villages, great scenery, out of the way beaches and many other things that one might not normally find without local knowledge.

• A tour throughout a country or region where they have hired a car at an arrival airport and then visited many places and stayed at hotels or residences which one might not normally find.

Members' Businesses

Members are able to enter details about their businesses including the business’ websites and locations. Local Know Community Club management will be pleased to discuss with business owning members any special offers they may wish to make to other members of The Local Know Community Club and to put in place the mechanics of such offers.

Members' Sporting Interests, Ability and Achievements

Members' Musical and Cultural Interests

Musical interest options are:
Classical, Opera, Light Rock, Heavy Rock, Blues, Jazz, Melody, Country, American Songbook, Other

Cultural Interest options are:
Theatre, Ballet, Art, Fashion, Other

Members are able to tick any of the options above and make additional comments which may include their own skills and achievements.

Members' Other General Interests and Hobbies

Members may wish to share any other general interests or hobbies they may have and they will be able to enter three examples with a name and comments and add any others in a further comments field.

Members' Education and CV

Members may also enter details about their education and a brief CV and this will also be accessible by other members.
