Once you have joined The Local Know Community Club, you will be able to see other members’ posts describing their travel experiences and recommendations. Read about their experiences in a variety of countries, towns, resorts, villages, hotels, restaurants and more.
You will be able to leave detail of your own travel experiences and also communicate with other members about theirs.
1. Tuscany Road Trip
A tour of Tuscany following a flight to Pisa and hiring a car at Pisa Airport is something I really recommend.
After collecting our car at Pisa airport, we drove to Montecatini and spent one night in a hotel there. The next day we drove up to Montecatini Alto where there is a great view of the surrounding valleys and Montecatini.

Based there we spent some evenings in San Gimignano but also drove around Tuscany and enjoyed its outstanding scenery. I particularly enjoyed the rolling hills near Volterra and also visiting Castelfalfi, where incidentally there is an excellent golf course.
A day trip to Siena is a must too. There is nothing quite like the atmosphere in its famous square.
We returned our car to Pisa airport and then took a train to Piombino and then the ferry to Elba where we hired a car locally in Portoferraio. We visited much of Elba and In particularl, I recommend visiting Porto Azzurro and Capoliveri.
2. Hotel in Portugal
A holiday In Southern Portugal in February/March is perfect: warm weather but not too hot, hotels bookable at a reasonable price and not overcrowded.
A hotel I strongly recommend is Hotel Portobay Falesia, not far from Albufeira and Vilamoura. I spent 2 great weeks there in February 2022.
Great facilities, nice walks down to the beach and for music lovers, live music on a purpose-built stage with a dance floor almost every night. Additionally, there are good inexpensive restaurants of many varieties a short walk away.
In early stages of planning is a group visit of Local Know Community Club Members who are music lovers and tennis and/or golf players as well as those who simply enjoy a comfortable hotel with a nice swimming pool, good views, good food and other facilities such as a gym, jacuzzi and spa.
3. South West Turkey
South West Turkey is superb. Do visit Bodrum, Bites, Kas and Kalkan amongst other coastal towns in this region. Inexpensive, great food, good views, excellent music played in the bars. It is hoped that members will post many more of their travel experiences in South West Turkey. It’s a holiday must!
